Celebrate National Dentist’s Day!
March 6, 2023 is National Dentist’s Day! What would we do without the men and women who take care of our oral health? Dental health is an important part of our general health. Try to find a way to salute Dr. Angela S. Evanson, DDS for keeping our teeth looking good and being healthy and for keeping your overall health in good condition. Many thanks to dentists everywhere in the USA!
Why Do We Celebrate National Dentist’s Day?
Dentists Help Us with Our General Appearance
Our smile is one of the first things people notice about us, and dentists keep our smile looking good. Whether our teeth have cavities and need fillings, a crown, or other dental services, Dr. Evanson is there. She will ensure that your teeth are healthy and our smile is confident when we leave her office.
Dentists Keep Our Overall Health Healthy
When our teeth are healthy, our overall health is healthy. Our oral health is intertwined in many ways to our general health. Good oral health care, routine dental exams and daily brushing and flossing at home, keep bacteria in your mouth under control. Without proper oral care, the bacteria in your mouth can lead to oral infections, such as gum disease and tooth decay. Other diseases are linked to your oral health including cancer, cardiovascular disease, premature birth, and low birth weight to name a few.
Improve Your Daily Oral Health Routine and Commit to Better Dental Habits
To celebrate National Dentist’s Day, you might spend some extra time on your oral health routine.
- Brush your teeth twice a day for at least two minutes with a soft bristled brush and fluoride toothpaste. Brush all surfaces of the teeth. Frequent brushing helps teeth stay whiter and prevents plaque from hardening into tartar. Attack the bacteria living on your tongue by brushing your tongue too. This will help control bad breath and contribute to your good oral health.
- Flossing is as important as brushing. Flossing before bedtime removes plaque between the teeth and under the gum line in places your toothbrush can’t reach. To floss properly, wrap the floss around your finger and insert in between the space in your teeth and slide it up and down under the gum line a few times.
- Rinse your mouth with an antibacterial mouthwash. The antiseptic ingredients in mouthwash kill germs that lead to bad breath, plaque, and gum disease.
Show Dr. Evanson That You Appreciate Her on National Dentist Day
Everyone could use a moment of recognition for a job well done. Perhaps you could let Dr. Evanson know how much you appreciate her expertise and all she does for you and your whole family. A basket of fresh fruit, a gift card, a bouquet of flowers or a kind thank you note would make her day!
Make Sure to Schedule Your Next Cleaning Appointment with Dr. Evanson
Everyone needs regular dental checkups, which promotes good oral health. The areas of your teeth and gums that can’t be seen with the naked eye, need to be checked with x-rays and a visual examination. Regular screenings for oral cancer, and an overall examination of your mouth and teeth are other important reasons to see Dr. Evanson on a regular basis.
