Celebrate National Dentist’s Day On March 6, 2021!

March 6, 2021 is National Dentist’s Day; a day to celebrate the men and women who keep our chompers chomping, our gnashers gnashing, and our pearly whites pearly. Dental health is integral to our general health, so today we salute Dr. Angela S. Evanson, DDS for keeping our teeth looking good and being healthy!

How about doing something special for Dr. Evanson? Following are a few things that are bound to make HER smile!

Improve Your Daily Oral Health Routine and Commit to Better Dental Habits

Dr. Evanson loves it when she knows that you’re taking care of your teeth. To celebrate National Dentist’s Day, spend a few extra minutes on your oral health routine.

Brush your teeth twice a day for at least two minutes with a soft bristled brush and fluoride toothpaste. It’s important to brush all surfaces of the teeth, which includes the chewing surface on the top and the bottom, the visible surface or outside of the teeth and the tongue side of the teeth. Frequent brushing helps teeth stay whiter and healthier and prevents plaque from hardening into tartar.

Flossing is as important as brushing. Flossing before bedtime removes plaque between the teeth and under the gum line where a toothbrush can’t reach. To floss properly, wrap the floss tightly around your finger and insert in the space between your teeth. Gently slide it up and down under the gum line a few times.

Rinsing with an antibacterial mouthwash is a beneficial addition to your daily teeth cleaning. The antiseptic ingredients in mouthwash kill germs that lead to bad breath, plaque and gum disease.

Schedule Your Next Cleaning – Dr. Evanson Will be Happy to See Your Smiling Face!

Even the healthiest patients need regular dental checkups. Many times, there are areas of your teeth or gums where underlying problems hide. Routine check-ups every six months help to promote good oral health. Studies show that the bacteria found in periodontal disease has been linked to serious health conditions such as heart attack, stroke, diabetes, and even death. Regular screenings for oral cancer, and an overall examination of your mouth and teeth are other important reasons to see Dr. Evanson.
