Modern Dental Technology Enhances Your Appointments

Modern Dental Technology Enhances Your Appointments

Dentistry has changed over time, and modern dental technology has been the reason.  Above all,  advanced dental technology helps Dr. Angela S. Evanson, DDS of Parker, Colorado, create a better dental experience for you. New tools and techniques offer tailor-made services that are unique to your needs.  As a result, EvansonDDS can offer you the most effective treatment in a more comfortable environment.

What are Some of the New Technologies?

    Digital X-Rays

Digital x-rays are a routine part of the dental check-up. Moreover, Dr. Evanson uses digital x-rays to help diagnose your dental health with accuracy, speed, and comfort.  Certainly, digital x-rays are one of the most important new advances in Modern Dentistry.

    • The images are bigger and the quality of the image is exceptional.
    • Old school imaging triggered a gag reflex in many patients. That is to say, the method for obtaining the image was an uncomfortable.  Certainly, for those with a smaller mouths.
    • Digital x-ray equipment is a handheld x-ray device that is much more comfortable than conventional x-rays of the past.
    • Radiation from the equipment is minimal.

    Same Day Crowns

Permanent dental crowns can now be made in the dental office during one visit, thanks to new technology.  Moreover, Dr. Evanson can now create natural-looking ceramic crowns in her office.  Also, Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics (CEREC) is used. This is a high-tech system used to design and make high quality, metal-free dental restorations in one appointment.  Consequently, CEREC utilizes 3D photography and CAD/CAM technology to help Dr. Evanson design a virtual restoration without taking impressions.  And, when combined with a milling unit, she is able to build an actual crown while you are still in the dentist’s chair.

As a result, the process of taking 3D photographs is far more comfortable than the process of making traditional dental impressions.  Gone are the days of  Alginate, the gooey material that causes a gag reflex.  Also, traditional crowns require at least two dental visits and a 2-4-week turnaround time before the crown can be applied.

    Dental Implants

Furthermore, dental implants are revolutionizing the way we approach the problem of missing teeth. Dental implants are a state-of-the-art option that allow patients to replace missing teeth with ones that look, feel and perform like natural teeth, and they are the best option for replacing missing teeth. Dental implants are natural looking, strong and secure and in many cases, your dental implant might even be stronger than a natural tooth would be. This technology provides the security of finding a permanent solution to missing teeth.

    A dental implant:

    • Restores and preserves your facial structure
    • Stops the progression of bone loss and gum recession
    • Creates a secure base for bridgework
    • Helps remaining teeth stay in place
    • Normalizes chewing and speaking abilities
